1992/1993 Toyota Corolla Promotion
In 1992 and 1993 The Simpsons were part of a Toyota promotion known as Toyotathon for the 1993 Toyota Corolla compact sedan. If you've ever attended a Toyotathon you know that there are usually snacks and small giveaway items aplenty. Generally there is free popcorn, hot dogs and drinks to get potential buyers to walk around and look at vehicles while you eat. As well as free food and drinks they also often gave away little promotional items such as key chains, coffee mugs and T-shirts.
There were about a half-dozen promotional items given away that featured The Simpsons throughout this promotion such as a coffee mug, a set of pins, a plastic key chain, a Bart doll with Corolla shirt and a T-shirt. |
These promotional items are now nearly 20 years old and are very, very difficult to find. I have the coffee mug and pins in my collection and I'm on the hunt for the other items. If you happen to find any of the items from this promotion, consider yourself lucky.
